White Screen of Death - and MYSQL error?

Hey guys,

I'm new -- very new -- and I'm afraid I don't know a thing about PHP really. I have a website, though, that's been plagued by the WSOD for many months and I can't seem to find the cause. I've removed all themes and plugins and put them back. I've removed plugins one by one. And that gets me back in to the WP-Admin panel, but only for a little while and then it starts happening again.

I saw somewhere to check the error log in WP-Admin. This what shows...

All I could see in there was the mention of a couple plugins, Comment Relish and something related to SEO... so I turned off all SEO plugins and Comment Relish... but it fixed nothing.

Can you guys tell me what this gibberish means?

Is the above error output when the plugins are disabled or enabled?

And typically a failed database query in WordPress won't take down the site (or cause the WSOD); I have had pages run for weeks with database errors and not even known it until I happened to look. But it looks like the activate_plugin hook is causing the issue when it's trying to activate the Comment Relish plugin. I did a very cursory Google search and it appears that this plugin is very old. I can't even find it in the WordPress plugin directory, which leads me to believe the plugin is no longer supported and the code is probably not up to par. In fact I found this as well. There's no date on the article but it's interesting nonetheless.

I would consider looking at alternative plugins.

Might want to set the PHP config (either in php.ini or .htaccess) to turn on display_errors. (Setting it in the code via ini_set() won't help if the problem is a syntax error.) E.g., in .htaccess:

php_flag display_errors on
php_value error_reporting E_ALL

(Once you are done debugging, you'll want display_errors turned back off, at least in the production environment.)

Many thanks all... I ended up going in and shutting off ALL my old plug ins at the FTP site, since I've tried to isolate the busted ones before (getting rid of comment relish alone didn't fix it)... and then I just went back into Wordpress and picked some more modern versions for all the things I wanted plugins to do. In the end, probably a much cleaner result, as I'm sure there could be other things lurking (I haven't looked at what's new in the plug in world for a long time). So... thanks for inspiring me to get it done! The site is much better for it, in the end.
