Return Multiple Values from picklist using $_REQUEST

Hello I have an existing picklist that i am trying to tweak - I am making it into a multiselect and trying to return multiple values

I have been able to accomplish the first part by adding select 'multiple' but when i submit it only returns results for the last value selected.

Here is the code for the form (Left out the picklists that do not need to be multiple select)

You need to use the array-type naming convention in your HTML. See http://php.net/manual/en/faq.html.php#faq.html.select-multiple .

Hi I read the post at the link above and tried using the bracket but when i run it it gives 0 results - <select multiple name='Status[]' id='Status'> any suggestions?

How are you then dealing with the $_REQUEST['Status'] array? You'll have to loop through it, or implode() it, or something to deal with the fact that it's now an array of selected values, not a scalar string variable.

The first thing you should do is get a clear understanding of the data that is being POSTed to your script. This command will output all the data that has been POSTed to a script:

var_dump($_POST);

Once you can see what kind of data your are posting you can get a better idea of how it's structured and how you can process it -- or how you can tweak the form that submits to it so that it is more to your liking.

Edit: If you want to see all data submitted to a script (both $GET and $POST) then you can var_dump $REQUEST instead:

var_dump($_REQUEST);
