Issues with printer_open

Hi all
Seen plenty of posts regarding php print jobs on google but none have answered my question. I currently have a Windows 2008 IIS server with PHP installed.
The PECL extension has been installed and the php ini file has been amended.

However I can not print to the printer using php from my browser - it detects the network printer - even lists its name. The error message that comes up is:
Warning: printer_open(): couldn't connect to the printer [myprintername] in test2.php on line 57

If however I run my print script from the command line - there is no issue printing. Ideas anyone?

You'll want to make sure that the permissions are the same. My guess would be that when you run it command line its running as a different user than the other way you are accessing it (presumably a web server, but you never said).The printer may not be visible / accessible to all users of the system.

I think Derokorian has it right. When you run a PHP script from the command line, you own the process that runs so the process has access to everything to which you yourself have access.

When you access a PHP script through a web server (i.e., through a browser) then the PHP script runs with the web server user's permissions. To find out what the webserver's username is on *nix or OSX, you server this php script with your webserver and access it in a browser:
