I feel like I'm on the other side of the tracks being here, but I like the view over here! I've been a Windows/Classic ASP guy for years, but interested in moving my skills over to PHP and getting a great understanding from the ground floor.
If you have an idea about the most effective, awesome, clear-as-a-bell place to go to start learning - that's where I want to go.
I'm a mid-level Classic ASP developer using MSSQL for developing web applications. Because of that, my desire is to start with the basics, then understand about things like foundations (Laravel, Rails, etc), grasping API's, hosting resources for applications (Github, AWS), command-line coding...basically what PHP ninjas seem to be born with the knowledge of. Looking for a learning series type of resource, like a Lynda.com or something similar.
I want to start rebuilding my current ASP based SaaS applications with less code and more foundation tools that are out there for PHP and heavily used.
Thank you for your time, and hopefully there's a hands-down resource out there without having to enlist in college!
