My take on it was mainly pointing out that a lot of "sushi" (at least here in the US -- I'm definitely no expert on it) is predominantly white rice, and white rice is predominantly empty calories. Even if that's the case (I don't know, I just saw that image recently and it amused me), by all means enjoy it in moderation, just like everything else that is good but ultimately probably is not necessarily all that good for you.
I'm pretty sure a "good" sushi place gives you more actual tuna and less imitation crab -- but ask if you can have it on brown rice. 😉
