According to my SEO, motorhead69.us, motorhead69.us/index.php, motorhead69.us/fpw.php, and motorhead69.us/contact.php all say they have fewer than 300 words. I have details for each of these below.

I did not add any text to put on the website in index.php. motorhead69.us and index.php pull the words from Welcome Message. Now I have 2 Welcome Messages on the main part of my website. I haven't checked to see if they might be just checking 1 Welcome Message. The first Welcome Message has 120 words; the second Welcome Message has 162 words. How do I find out if it's checking the word counts of both Welcome Messages or just the first one?

I did add extra text in fpw.php. The word count of what I added is 268 words according to Microsoft Office. This doesn't count the title, h1 tag, and form that is included on this page. I'm not sure what is counted cause I can't find the function that calls for the word count.

I did add extra text in contact.php. The word count of what I added is 430 words according to Microsoft Office. This doesn't count the title, h1 tag, contact information, and form that is included on this page. I'm not sure what is counted cause I can't find the function that calls for this word count.

My problem is that I cannot find the function for any of these pages to find out what they are counting. The other problem I have is that as you can see, there is the contact.php file that obviously has 430 words already and it's saying I have less than 300 words in that file. Do I have the additional text that's in fpw.php and contact.php in the wrong files? They seemed like the logical place to put them. If the text I want added needs to go some place else, please tell me where to put it. Then, also about the Welcome Messages, is it ok to have 2 Welcome Messages or should I try making 1 Welcome Message but separating the content into the 2 departments since the website is based on 2 departments?

Please help if you can. I tried to be as descriptive as I could since I don't know what code you would need to see or where to find it.

Thanks

Well, I read this blog and found it interesting. I guess I'm still on the philosophy that there is Google and then there is other search engines. At this point, I cannot afford to "pay for play" on Google so I'm stuck with those other search engines. I've had a few pages hit Google without the "pay for play."

I don't push SEO on anyone else; I merely ask for support on how to fix these 4 files. I could have left off the reference to SEO, but then it wouldn't have made sense about the word count being off.

Two things I learned from that page article:

      1. The acronym SERP

      2. Having useful content is still what's important.

In my opinion, I feel my website has useful content. I'm trying to use SEO as a guideline on how to get better ratings if at all possible. I see that ya'll don't like SEO at all so I might have to go ask for help on this aspect on a different place - if that's at all possible. I never saw a place that was so against helping a person even though they were basing it on SEO guidelines.

Well, we don't know what "your SEO" is (though I'd guess without any information to go on that it (or they, it's hard to tell since "SEO" is a process rather than a distinct entity) has a list of stopwords that it doesn't bother counting because there'd be no point indexing them). Or why, for instance, your contact page would need to be relevant.

Well. my "SEO" is offered through my web hosting company and is called "Search Engine Visibility."

My contact information on the main part is necessary because the main part of my website offers local engine repair and rebuild of ATVs and car/truck engine repair as well as general contract work. It is necessary for people to be able to contact us in order to inquire and request services.

I hope that helps explain those questions for you.

Then maybe this is a question you should be taking up with your web hosting company and their "Search Engine Visibility" service.

But is it a page that would be useful to anyone doing a web search? Surely it would be enough for them to find your site. Then they can see if you supply the services they're wanting and if you do they can use your site's navigation to find the contact page.

OK then would I add DISALLOWs to the robots.txt for contact.php and fpw.php?
Then, I would only be left with how to resolve the word count issues of motorhead69.us and motorhead69.us/index.php. I would need to know on them if the word count only counts the first Welcome Message or both Welcome Messages? Also, would it be easier if I combine both Welcome Messages and put a divider in between the 2?
