Help with couple of issues

I installed the latest phpnuke on my site got it all up and running. I had some deprecated errors on the homepage which I removed by setting error reporting to false. However when I try to manage the built in forums all I see is these errors everywhere and no way to edit my forums such as creating categories and such. The second issue I'm having is with the downloads module. I have added several downloads in different categories and sub categories however only one download is appearing in each section even though you can click on new downloads and see them all. Any help would be appreciated. Also want to mention that the errors only appear in the admin area for the forums.

Lets clarify this real quick, you didn't remove the errors, they still exist. You simply told php to stop reporting those errors.

There is no way to possibly help with this unless you include the errors you are receiving.

Sounds like a logic error displaying those posts. No idea why the logic is incorrect without seeing the code involved.

Again, we really need to know what the errors you are receiving, and the relevant code related to those errors in order to provide any assistance.

However, it seems your issues may be specific to phpnuke, have you tried a phpnuke specific forums or IRC channel for help?

No I have not this is my first shot with this forum so I figured head straight to the coding area I have attached all the errors that show up on the page.[ATTACH]5323[/ATTACH]

All of those warnings/errors suggest to me that PHPNuke is old code that is not very compatible with modern versions of PHP (and poking around a bit on the web suggests there has been no update of PHPNuke for at least a couple years if not more. The "ereg" deprecated warnings can probably be safely ignored for now, but I'm not sure if those strict warnings about a resource being cast to an integer are a sign of something being broken. Similarly, the ob_start() error at the top smells to me like a version compatibility issue.

My first suggestion upon seeing all of that would be to see if there's a more up-to-date CMS out there you could use instead of PHPNuke (Joomla, Drupal, maybe even WordPress?).

Yes the ereg functions were deprecated a long time ago:

Sounds like phpNuke is old. Worse, it sounds like it may have been acquired by some unsavory entity. From the Wikipedia page:

When it comes to PHP 7, furthermore, the ereg and mysql_ functions have both all been removed; PHPNuke just will not run on 7. (And, glancing over the code I think I saw a couple of places where even if it did run it would still be buggy because of changes to how complex variables are parsed.)
