/usr/bin/yes, a rather obscure UNIX utility.
And that it can also cuss, according to the manual. Actually, it repeats whatever you tell it to, ∞ times (e.g. until CTL-C, or a broken pipe, which comes in useful in the case below).
Since my "cp" is aliased, as yours probably is also, to "cp -i", this came in handy for a directory full (2400+) of overwrites:
[root@www] yes | cp /my/restored/backup /usr/local/www/somesite/html
It also may have come into handy to cuss when I discovered the need to restore the HTML for "somesite". But maybe not ... I'm not tellin'. 😃
