[RESOLVED] Replies to Thread

Yesterday I created a Thread in the Newbies forum. I was fortunate enough to have two experienced members look at my post and suggest solutions.

After reading their posts, I replied to each, thanking them for their solution, using the quick reply text area and hit the reply arrow.

I am confused why these replies don't show up in the thread.

I don't know if NogDog or Weedpacket received the replies either because I've seen no further activity on the Thread.

Before marking the the thread as solved I would like others to see The replies.

Please help.

note: I did look at faq section and didn"t see how this really works.

Are you sure you were logged in? Sometimes you will still see the reply box but your session has timed out

I was logged in when I began.
Perhaps I was timed out.
Would I be notified I was timed out?

Only after you try and post, you may not have noticed the validation message

Looks like I can mark this one as solved.
I was using +Reply to Thread top left of quick reply.
I should have been using "Post Quick Reply" bottom right of text area.

There's also some discussion in the archives about the session timeout. IIRC, I always hit the "Remember Me" now because a lot of times it would log me out WHILE I WAS COMPOSING a reply to a thread ...

This, exactly this. I always leave remember me on, specifically because I've lost a lot of typing to session timeout >.<

No problem; you gotta keep your desktop/screen secure, though. It'd be really bad to make us all say "that New_PHP_Guy sure is a jerk" because your cat had been posting insensitive knock-knock jokes to the forum via your account while you were away making dinner or something. 😉 😃

Ours has taken to pooping NEXT TO the litterbox.

To be somewhat fair, he is now old & lame and the box is rather high ... should probably tell the wife we should fix that; perhaps she'll have compassion. I'm not sure I do ... #poop_scooping_aint_fun

My old man gets in the litter box and then proceeds to poop over the side about one in ten times. Its annoying, but I got a litter mat to put under the box that's about twice the size as the box, so its not on my actual floor.
