how do I make a page stay in same position after a page link is clicked?

Hi guys.

I would say that the following question is probably more of a HTML question rather than a PHP question.

I just need to know how I would make a page stay in same position after a page link is clicked?

For example, I built a reviews application for a customer and if he has more than 4 reviews posted on his page, a 'next' link appears under his reviews list.

When the 'next' link is clicked, it reloads the page and the next batch of reviews are fetched from the database and displayed.

But when the link is clicked it brings me to the very top of the page, which means I have to scroll back down to where the reviews are.

How can I simply make the page stay/remain in that same spot where the reviews are situated?

Ps - In case you are wondering - I am using an anchor tag for the 'next' link.

Probably the simplest way is to ensure there is an HTML id attribute for the container or maybe header element of the reviews section. Then just add a "#" part at the end of the next URL, e.g.

http://example.com/script.php?page=2#the_id_you_used

As I have attempted this strategy in the past and I had no luck.

(That would be the HTML that gets output, buy obviously you'd have some PHP in there to set the next page number and such.)
