Hi guys,
Hope this doesn't come across as a really stupid question, or should I say, hope this doesn't come across as a question that shows my stupidity......

You have me interested in the name "phpbuilder". Can you shed some light on where the name came from and whether it means anything in particular?

Thanks in advance.

It's pretty well hidden: you have to click on the little gray "i" icon on the bottom right of the forum web pages to get that navigation menu. 🙁

You could also use PHP to create a project management tool that covers task management, collaborations, scheduling, and more for yourself or a team of users involved on a project. PHP can also help you develop your own Facebook-based application.

Ha trying something like that now, finally managed to get my address form in order

It's the name Tim Perdue gave it 20 years ago when the idea came to him. It was conceived as a site for PHP programmers ("builders") to congregate.

And indeed, to some extent, we have. Although the community now is pretty much just a shadow of its former glory. Check out March 2006: https://web.archive.org/web/20060313053244/http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/
