need transaction db

I need to use PHP with a SQL db that supports transactions.

I would like to have used SQl Server 7.0, but I can't seem to find any reference to commit and roolback in the docs.

Can anyone advise me of a db I can use. It needs to run on NT/2000.

Im afraid Oracle is far too expensive. I would like to use MS SQL Server 7.0, but I've heard it doesnt support transactions under PHP.

Why not PostgreSQL? Supports transactions, and there is a version that runs on NT (though NOT Win9x.)
