PHP3 to PHP4

Hi I'm running a server on Apache 1.3.9 & PHP3. I plan to upgrade to PHP4. Coould somebody please tell me the implications.

I mean if I shift to PHP4, how bout all the other applications currently written in Php3, will they work after I install PHP4 ?

Can I install PHP4 and still have PHP3 running at the same time ?

How bout all the extensions for PHP4. (The ones that are not included in the distribution) Can I use the same extensions that PHP3 uses ?

Can I run several versions of PHP at the same time?
Yes. See the INSTALL file that is included in the PHP 4 source distribution.
