Resolve Email Header and Content

I got a great trouble of resolving the header and content of email. How can I get back the header elements, attachment information and other email body easily. I don't use IMAP or POP3 because I want to write some applications to read mail in brower.

If you are looking for a way to send and recieve mail, use sockets. PHP has fairly good socket capabilities that will let you connect to a pop/imap/smtp servers and transfer data directly.
