Storing MP3 files in MySql

Can one store mp3 files in a MySql database? Does it involve the same procedure as storing images?

I have not tried storing MP3's in MySQL, but my guess is that it would be the same as storing Images. The only thign is, I think it would probably be faster and more efficient to just use .mp3 files.
