Hello there,
My problem is:
I have to develop a simple e-commerce application (e-shop). I need to be stable and fast.
I'm a PL/SQL developer for 7 years now but
this time I won't use OAS.. just FREE apache and PHP but Oracle is a MUST.
I have to compare PHP with PL/SQL in terms of:
stability
speed
* reliability
I'm, already, testing PHP using OCI (php_oci8.dll - no persistent connection yet) but
the problem is the CONNECTION delay time so:
1 I need information about php persistent connections using oracle (or any other db in general)
OR
- I don't want to connect/recconect each time user requests a page.Any suggestion?
OR
- I should forget PHP!
Any URL? code? tutorial?
thanks in advance!!
thanasis
PS. I'm using:
OS: Win2K/Suse Linux
DB: Oracle8i R2 (8.1.6)
* HTTP Server: Apache1.3.12
