rmdir under unix

hi,
well the command rmdir -r /usr/local/nilesh
will remove all the files and directories
under /usr/local/nilesh and finally the
/nilesh directory too.
the problem is say I have 40 files under
this directory and it prompts me
remove nilesh/approvedart/fright.php? y
remove nilesh/approvedart/movie.php? y
remove nilesh/approvedart/party.inc? y

I know there is an option with rmdir command
that will prompt "Y" automatically.

Does anyone know the proper option ?
I tried looking this under many unix helps,
but no success..

Not a PHP question. However...

To delete a directory and all files under that directory, withour promping, I use:

rm -fR /path/to/directory

And how did I find that out?

man rmdir
rmdir --help

You may have an alias set up for the rm command, the redhat install typically does on install.
try: unalias rm and the see if you can remove the files without prompting, if so the alias command is in .bashrc in your home directory.
Another possibility is that the files are owned by someone else.
