PHP Test

Hello
I am new to PHP. I read a book and I am ready to write scripts and test them. Can anyone tell how can I test my scripts? I have Windows NT, Windows 98 and Redhat Linux 6.1 installed on my machine. I installed PHP on my NT machine and tried to have IIS to run a localhost site but it didn't recognize my script even though my extension was .php. How can I know that I correctly installed PHP?

have u configured iis as written in the readme.txt file?
have u added in the document sheet the extension php?
whatever read the manual online in www.php.net its really mmm exaustive...

I installed PHP exactly as mentioned in the manual but still can't get it to run my script.

well look at the php-ini.txt file there lots of comments which could be usefull...

Make sure you tell IIS that it is OK to "execute" files in the directory you where you are keeping your *.php files. I almost always forget about this.
