Does anyone have an HP Deskjet 1120C?

Im trying to get this thing to werk, and its only printing out jumbled garbade - Smiley faces, diamonds, hearts, etc.

WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?

PLease help - HP tech suppt is pure crap

Have you installed it properly?

Look for Printers in Control Panel.

Is it the EXACTLY same printer
installed?

Otherwise.. I have no clue

Allright everyone...

I apologize about putting this question in a PHP forum, but there aren't too many areas where decent size groups of INTELLEGENT people reside. This was really the only one.
As for the problem - it was the printer cable. I went to Best Buy (Worst Buy) and picked up a new one. Once plugged in, all probs were alleviated.

Absolutely right. They do suck. The Devil will have to take a ski trip before I buy another HP printer. I have replaced cartriges, cleaned, aligned, removed a driver, reinstalled a driver, unchecked grayscale, tried every selectable possibility, e-mailed HP and called HP. This heap of garbage still doesn\'t print color. No color test page..no nothing. It\'s a DJ 610CL. I have also spent money on a laserjet 4 which seems to have an unresetable I/O error. It has an ethernet card. I have also called HP about this. They seem absolutely clueless unless they get more of your money to support these garbage printers. I bought an Epson 740 and have had 0 problems since installation.

I have an HP 1120Cxi (wide carriage), cost me $673.48 for it in December 1999. I hardly used it during 2000 (the one-year warranty period), and in 2001 it wouldn't print. I kept getting three different error messages about not having cartridges installed or installed incorrectly. The cartridges were fine, and the original ones that came with the machine. I had an HP service guy look at it who told me that it would cost over $100 for a new print head, and take months to get because they were on backorder. Today I called HP Canada (long distance) and was told that even though the cartridge holder/print head shouldn't break within two years, it is not covered and they will do absolutely nothing for me.

You're right, HP sucks and I won't ever buy another one.
