Creating gif images on-the-fly

Can someone tell me how to create a gif image on-the-fly - including TrueType font support - without using the gd library? I need a solution that doesn't involve recompiling Apache or anything like that.

You can try using Perl with gd library support. Writting a CGI script that has image headers is not too hard.

Thankyou for your help, but how would I incorporate True Type fonts into this? (without having to reinstall anything!)

Hopefully the perl version compiled has the gd library linked and that the gb library has the TTF support linked into it as well.

I'm currently using v1.82 of GD and it has support for TTF if compiled in.

Hope it has the above compiled and linked in...
