I´ve tried to probe the LDAP example from the PHP manual...but i get this warning

If someone can help me, that would be hot!!!
 What type of malfunctioning can occur when using Global Catalog and LDAP?  How is the malfunctioning identified?  What are the symptoms that show up when this malfunctioning occurs?  How can this malfunctioning be rectified?  How can we verify that the GC or LDAP setup is in accordance with whatever was proposed to be setup?  What sort of tasks can be performed to prevent problems in LDAP and GC when a network system is already running? A real life situation where one of the above decisions need to be taken?
I had a similar experience, but upgrading to the latest version of PHP and specifying the LDAP_DEREF_ALWAYS flag in the search function has fixed the problem.
