PHP vs CGI

I am planning to write a messageboard aplication which must be very scalable and have good performance. Could you sugest what technique (PHP or CGI) and why is beter to use?

I would say PHP is a much better choice!
If you want a REALLY good messageboard application, why not just use Phorum!
It's great, easy to install and manage. This site is using it.
