If you open a file with read only permissions, then flock it exclusively, is it the same as opening a file with write only permissions and flock-ing it exclusively?
The key is that I want file to be exclusively locked, but I don't necessary have write permission to it. (full read permissons though)
lack of telnet, and chmod through my ftp client doesn't work sometimes, erf. TIA
