How good is using Zope as content management

Hi everyone.
Could you all give some comments about Zope (good and bad). I've read some articles praising it and well, Zope seems to be a better choice than PHP when developing certain system for example content management. So why don't you give me your 2cents thoughts.

By the way, just want to say phpbuilder.com is doing a great job for PHP. kudos. Just wondering, with all the traffic, what is the spec on the server running this site?

I've been researching Content Management Systems (CMS). I can't find a good listing of existing systems out there.

So far, I've heard about the same things about zope that you have (better than php). But, I've heard good things about enhydra (better than zope), but it's java based.

Here are some php based CMSs:

I know there was another one out there using php3 (not php4)... I can't seem to find it now! If anyone knows of other "working" systems (there are a lot of CMSs planned) please add it to the list!

Hi.
I have Zope installed in an Apache Server (1.3.12) with Php (4.0.3), but Zope (2.2.2) doesn't serve Php directly, you have to hack it to allow some functions of Php being served within Zope.
I'm in the process of adding Php to Zope, when I'm finished I'll let you know.

Also have heard that Zope is better than PHP, but not so great on the 'rapid development' side. Found that Typo3 (www.typo3.org) which is based in PHP is a pretty quick and powerful solution.

I had some problems adding a PHP module into Zope, but once it's done, works very well.
In my point of view, PHP is not better than Zope and Zope is not better than PHP.
Why? because they're different in nature. Zope is more of a site administrator than a scripting language.
Zope can be customized via "products" (little programs generally written in python).
Is not fare to compare PHP vs Zope, for either of them. Each have some natural features that the other CAN do, but with some cost.
If you want an easy to use and learn scripting language, that allows you freedom accessing databases, use PHP.
If your idea is to build a complete, full and heavy site, use Zope.
