header "location" trouble with IE

I've got trouble when using header("location:http://login:[e-mail]/mypage.html");
in a redirection script.....it works well with netscape browsers.....but it fails with
Internet Explorer 4 or 5: it asks again login and password throw a pop up window.

any idea ?
an other way to redirect ?
(i use php as cgi on a netscape server, i need to protect html and php pages, and i can move to apache but without mod_php)

You don't use the correct syntax for the Location directive.

Try to use
header("Location: /login:[e-mail]/mypage.html");

you don't need to specify http:// because the protocol is already http when you send a header.

Maybe it's the wrong syntaxe but anyway i need it because i hadn't say everything...
the redirection goes to an ssl web site...

header("location:https://login:[e-mail]/mypage.html");
So i need to write "https:/" a the begining....

I hadn't mention it before beacause i didn't want you think ssl was the problem, because i have the same problem without ssl. anyway i'll try with you're syntaxe.
