I've come across with this type of variable -> $$var
I tried to find its usage but no luck.

Can someone please help to clear my doubt of what a double dollar sign is use for ?

You can use this kind of construct when you want a variable variable name. ( That is the variable name is dynamic ).

eg:
if $a="abcd"
then $$a and $abcd are equivalent
