installation IN ENGLISH please

hi,
at the moment i\'m using asp but i really want to try php and mysql.
could someone tell my how to install php4 and mysql.
i tried it some time ago with php3 but mysql didn\'t make it into php (not sign of it when i looked at phpinfo)
I don\'t quite remember what i put where but i\'ve uninstalled both many times and tried to start over.
I\'m running pws on win 98.
It\'s driving me nuts!

Not sure about php4/pws but for php3/apache someone has kndly written a self-extracting installer.

I'm buggered if I can find the link but it will be around on the forum somewhere.....it was only a few days ago that I saw it.

Are you sure that PHP4 works well with PWS on Win98 ?
I tried some time ago and only got trouble with both PHP4 and MySQL.
I'am not sure that PHP4 runs well in any Windows version, look at www.php.net.
Now I'am back to running PHP3 with MySQL without troubles and making
php3 pages for 2 new major sites coming soon.

Anyway, if you really need to use PHP4, try lookin at www.phpbuilder.com/,
there is some good info on things thats got to do with PHP.

Actually I wrote one for PHP4/Apache/MySQL/PHPMyAdmin in English. Available at http://download.sourceforge.net/phptriad/phptriadsetup.zip. There is also a link to it in the news section at the bottom of the main page of this site.

That's a great link, but how about one for those that runs PWS4 on Windows 98.2.
It's great that there is folks that take the time to do something like that for others.

I don't believe anyone can. Apache et al have free distribution licenses. MS products do not have such a license. If MS would put PWS under a less restrictive license it would at least be legal to create something similar. However, a PWS/PHP/MySQL installation would do a lot more playing with the registry and would require much more work. Basically my installer works because it is all "free" software. Also, I've never had anything but problems with PWS, so would be reluctant to use it anyway.
