problem with mail-function (using qmail)

On my Redhat system, I've replaced sendmail by qmail. In the php.ini-file, I've set the sendmail path to /var/qmail/bin/sendmail .

When I try to send an email: mail("[e-mail]", "My subject", "My body"); the mail function returns '1' but the mail isn't delivered!! ([e-mail] is a local email address)

However, qmail works perfect on my local network (so it can't be the mailserver), and the sendmail path is the correct one too.

Is there anyone who can help me out?

Does your qmail allow relaying ?
If not, what is the from field of your php outgoing mail ?

Have a try with

mail("[e-mail]", "My subject", "My body","From: someonelocal@yourdomain\n");

Ouppps, if the user you sent the mail to is already a local one, the pb cannot be linked to relaying.... Sorry for not having realised this .
