I want to know how to determine how large "Linux Native SWAP" is when setting up linux.

"Linux Native SWAP" play major role in WEB server?

set it as large as possible or just assign 64Mb to it?

I have 9.1 GB SCSI ULTRA 160.

Red Hat recommends that the minimum size of your Swap partition should be equal to your computer's RAM.

I have always just gone along with setting it to that number.

Peter is right, set it to the same size as your memory, or more if you have precious little memory <32MB.

Swap is only used if your server runs out of normal memory.
If you have a very busy server, keep an eye on your used memory, using the "top" command.

On my not very busy 128MB machine I have yet to see swap get above 0K used.

On a web server, with a 9.1 gig hard drive, I'd throw at least 128 Meg at it, especially if my memory was less than or equal to 128 Meg.

My production machines have multiple SCSI hard drives, and each one gets a swap partition of a hundred meg or so.

Linux will automagically distribute writes and reads to swap across the set as long as they all have the same priority in the /etc/fstab file. The can greatly increase performance when using the swap file.
