How to change the default extension which is .php3 for PHPed to .php ?? i mean set it as default as .php

The main point is set everything at PHPED from .php3 to .php. Or i coundn't modify the default value ?

Depends on your Web server. With Apache, edit httpd.conf (often found in /etc/httpd/conf/) and ensure that it contains this line:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .php3 .phtml

(and any other extension that you wish to have parsed).

Restart the Web server.

He didn't ask how to make apache parse php files with a .php3 or .php extension. He asked how to make "PHPEd" save files with a .php extension rather than a .php3 extension.

To change extension you should do this:

open a file srm.conf and insert (or decommentre, in case there's already a comment infront of it...) the directive extansion:

AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3

to your .php
& restart your apache.

This is NOT, I repeat NOT, a php/apache question. This is a PHPEd question. And what we are trying to figure out is how to make PHPEd save our files with a .php extension instead of a .php3 extension. I am sure both of us have php/apache configured to read every possible type of php extension there is. But that is not what we care about. WHAT WE CARE ABOUT IS HAVING PHPEd SAVE THE FILE WITH A .PHP EXTENTION, NOT A .PHP3 EXTENSION. Also, if you cannot speak or type english, do not bother answering this.
