Dynamic option lists

If I have a SELECT box with, for example, 3 options, how can I remove the selected option with each succeeding selection.

For example:

Possible options: Apples, Oranges, Pears

Selection box 1 can choose any of the three, say Apples. In box two, the client is shown only Oranges and Pears now, so he chooses Pears. Finally, the only option for Selection Box 3 would be Oranges.

Hi Ted,

I don't think this is possible without reloading the page (eg. submitting the form) for each choice (2 in this case...). Maybe it's possible to change the contents of a select box with Javascript, but I doubt it.

You'll have to do it with javascript.

you can change the number of items in a drop down like so:

document.myform.myselect.length = number;

and then you can change the actual options like so:

document.myform.myselect[0].text = "option1";
document.myform.myselect[1].text = "option2";
