Variable containing row number

Is there any way to retrieve the current rownumber? This would be useful when displaying debugging information such as:

if ($SomeThingScrewedUp == True)
die "An internal occurred on line $rownumber - If this problem persists, please contact [e-mail]";

[Anon]

try:

die("An internal error occurred on line ".LINE." in file ".FILE);

that should do it.. but current row number? I'm thinking you meant line number.. I hope
