Professional PHP chap. 11

Has anyone got the example given in chapter 11 of "Professional PHP Programming" (Wrox) to work? I've tried under PHP3 and PHP4 on a Win2K system running Apache. I've downloaded the latest zip file and looked at the corrections page - to no avail.

I have tried several samples on chap.11 of Professional PHP...it works...

You've got apache and PHP why not install MySQl on your machine, it will make life so much easier

Thank you for your reply. I do actually have MySQL installed although I haven't got on to chapter 12 of the Wrox book yet; there's no point moving on without understanding why the example in chapter 11 doesn't work for me. I'll try a while longer.
