Memory Errors

I have had no luck on getting any responses to this really anoying problem. I am running PHP 4.02 on RH 6.2 and Apache. For the past year things have been running great. Recently, I have been getting an error message about

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 5024000 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 256 bytes) in Unknown on line 0

Sometime it works, sometimes it doesnt. I have also tried increasing the size of the memory_limit setting but it didnt make any difference? Sometimes the error shows up on the most basic of pages, and sometimes it doesnt? Many times I can just keep hitting refresh and then the page will load?

If anyone has any ideas it would be so very much appreciated.

Just a guess but it sounds like you have a memory leak problem? Is it a custom build?

No its not a custom build. Its a binary RPM install on rh 6.2. It is really annoying especially since it never occured before and now happens frequently.

Maybe the official build has a leak then... Not like I havn't run into a few of them with the old Windows builds here and there <shrug>
