Variable Questions. Plz help.

I know a bit of perl and PHP, and I am working on a php template that 'require's a php file prints some variables in the appropriate places within the design. In Perl, you can have a variable looking like this:

$hello = qq~Content of the variable. I can use " without having to put a \ infront of it.~;

I'd really like to figure out how to do this with PHP, as my site won't be up until I can get it running 🙁 Please reply asap.

I'm guessing you just want to stop from having to use \" and just be able to use " where you need it, while here's the answer just encase your string in single quotes instead of double then whereever you use double quotes you won't have to put a slash in, of course as a side effect you'd have to use a slash for single quotes if you wanted them but thats the trade off.

So it'd look something like this...

$hello 'Content can now have "double quotes" in it without causing an "error"';
