supress warnings

Is there a way to supress warnings in PHP? I am guessing it has something to do with the debugger,

I keep getting this warning and can not for the life of me find a error in my code, nor a counterpart of mine:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ' in /home/sites/site5/web/calendar/index.php3 on line 1

you can for instance use @ before your functions: like this:

<?
$connect=@mysql_connect_db("database", $link);
?>

do if this could solve the problem?

You could use: error_reporting.
