installed, but php3 not working

i believe i have successfully installed the mysql, php3,and apache.
And phpmyadmin is working!
however when i try to run a php3 script, eg. for phpinfo(), i am just getting a blank page.
the php file is in the /home/httpd/html directory.
i do not have an ip address, so i go to the file via localhost.localdomain.

am i missing an importnt step?

if phpmyadmin is working then so too should phpinfo();

check that you are putting thefiles in the correct directory (htdocs?) and just access it by typeing http://localhost/info.php3
