HTML+PHP Editor

I´m a WebDesigner and I´m at Linux (Slack 7.1) using Apache+PHP(linked). I use the combination "Netscape Composer + Bluefish" to generate my WebPages. I was thinking if it´s the best free solution for producing HTML+PHP WebSites. The main problem I face is that Composer, as a WYSIWYG interface, generates too much trash code and confuses me a lot while editing the source code.

I´d like to know from you guys, what´s the best, or a better solution than mine, to build PHP WebSites under Linux ?

You mentioned that you're already familiar with Bluefish. I recommend that you use Bluefish exclusively and not even bother with Composer. If you are uncomfortable with straight HTML, you're going to be stuck with WYSIWYG editors that leave behind extra undesirable code. Linux does not yet have an efficient, clean WYSIWYG editor that is on par with say Macromedia Dreamweaver under Windows. I myself use Bluefish by itself and write all HTML from scratch. If you're simply looking for a "better" WYSIWYG editor than Composer, try searching on Freshmeat.net. I know that IBM just came out with one, and there's also the W3C's Amaya program (www.w3.org).

I personally use editplus v2.x

it directly supports php among others and you can easily define what types of files it can edit. The great thing about it is that it displays the code in a colored-coding fashion which makes it much more easier to distinguish those variables from those functions etc etc...
