Passing parameters in href

I'm new to PHP and the problem I have is that after listing just headline entries from a database containing news articles, I want each headline to be a link that when clicked will open a page showing the whole article. Something like href='url?ID' but I don't know how to do this
Can anyone help?

Assuming you can get the following variables or equivilent...

$id = X, some integer
$headline = xxxx...some text.

echo "<a href=\"your_page.php?id=$id\">$headline</a>";

You can do it with the result set, too...

echo "<a href=\"your_page.php?id=" . $row[id] . "\">" . $row[headline] . "</a>";
