i get connected to remote server, can login but at the time of using function ftp_put it gives:

Another Problem:
I get connected to the remote server return value is 1, when i log in using ftp_login function return value is 4 , now i try to retrieve the list of files present at the remote server, it always gives 1 in the array count returned but the array does not hold any value.. This happens to any remote server i try to connect
Dont know why? If any one of u have the solution please Do Tell me urgently?
is it because the Sun machines on which php is running is not configuerd properly to cater for php or some permission problems?
if any one wants i can even send the code..
