Any hosts with php4 and gd lib supporting gifs?

Hi,

I own www.gamers-connection.com and am having hosting problems. I have a host but hey are so unreliable its just not funny. I require a reliable host that has php4 and supports gif image maniplution(reqires gd 1.6 or lower)

If anyone knows or has heard of one please reply.

Just wondering, I looked at the phpinfo for myphphost.com and noticed that Zend Optimizer was not installed. I thought this was an easy thing to do, anyone know why it would not be installed?

I host several large sites at www.php4hosting.com and found them to be the best out of all the hosts I tried. Their servers are fast and their support is great.

They are also the same company that has www.php3hosting.com domain

I now have one of their reseller accounts and have full control over my customers accounts.

I am please anyway and when i talk to others on their servers they say the same 🙂

I don't know the host in question. But Zend Optimizer has only been out for PHP4.0.3 for a few days.

Its always best not to install anything the instant its released on a production server incase of bugs etc...

PHP is a prime example, I found bugs in both PHP4.0.2 and PHP4.0.3

I agree that they are a good host but their prices are quite high, dont get me wrong, Iknow that you pay for what you get but my site is a high bandwidth site and would use around 10gig a month in transfer that is why I choose jtlnet.com

If you could convert to using pngs instead of gifs, you would be doing yourself a favor, since pngs are likely to be more widely supported than gifs by programs like gdlib/php etc...

I know that transparencies aren't supported by most web browsers yet, so that's one reason to stick with gifs.

That is an option but the problem i face is that its an admin script and all my users will then have to know how to convert them to png and that is alot more inconvent, good point tho
