Does anyone have experience building 200+ concurrent users, oracle db type
environments
I don't
would you be willing to share some of your experiences in the development,
hardware configurations and running of such an app.
Yes, of course. Just put in a lot of RAM, use SCSI-disks with RAID, and a backup server configured like the mainserver on a diffrent location, and you are up and running. Simple isn't it !. Quite trivial.
But now the interesting part comes. This night I signed on to a seminar in Denmark where oracle is showing how to port from MySQL to oracle and using php. Not that I intend to do THAT, but I bought a financial system where the supplier said that they didn't support MySQL yet, until the roaming masses wanted it !!!. So I was forced to use oracle. So my guess is that oracle seen the light, and will support php and linux quite heavely in the future.
