I found the original author 'krychek' by doing a phpbuilder search then hitting the forum post and viewing in full context as forum posts include email links which displays the address. could not find 1.1 author 'tmaguire' though.
I don't think there is way to find users emails directly, would be interesting though as i know i've had this desire a few times before. (from within article posts).
