PHP executing in shell

A: yes, but you need to compile PHP in CGI mode.
Check out the manual on how to do this.
Compiling PHP as a CGI binary does not have any effect on your apache module version. Both can exist at the same time.

It will give you a php executable that you can call:

php my_script.php

If your trying to set up a PHP cron job or something like that, another options is to just call your page with lynx..

lynx www.your_domain.com/php/run_this.php

and have that command issued every so many minutes, hours, or whatever. Just make sure your script doesn't return anything.

The CGI mode is probably better, but this might give you an option till you get the other going...

Wouldn't lynx remain open though? I guess you could have cron do a "kill all lynx" afterwards..

Hmm...good question. I hope I'm not messing anything up on my server. I'd like to see a definite answer on that. Some other people have suggested other programs. I think wget (??) is one of them. There are other ways...

...should do the trick

Hi!, I executing in crontab this script below, before remove this log´s. No problems.

rm wget
rm gera_vmail.php3.
