cookies and header stuff

I am having an issue where when the user logins, the script tries to set a cookie, but is told that the headers are allready sent. OK, fine. I know that cookies need to be set BEFORE any header information is set, but for the life of me, I can't see any is being sent in the first place. Any ideas or things that I should consider?

The headers are sent as soon as something is output. So if you or PHP echo anything to the browser, even whitespace or a PHP error, you'll get that error. Make sure your PHP code blocks are tight to the top of the file, and you haven't echo'ed anyhing.
