php and netscape.. again :p

Okay, here is the new headache of the day with Netscape 4.x I am using php to pass values from one script to another using a link like this:
<a href="restaurant.php?genre=chinese">Chinese</a> .. etc..
This passes the value of genre to my next page where all the info is pulled from a database associated with this variable.

The GOOD: This works PERFECTLY in Internet Explorer, and even Netscape 6.x

The BAD: When I click on the link while using Netscape 4.x it decides that it wants to download and execute the file rather than bring up the restaurant.php page.. any ideas why this is happening?

(im about to just put a disclaimer on my site saying that "sorry, due to netscape being a pain, we will not be supporting it, heh)

any ideas on how to correct this are much appreciated. thanks in advance

Hmm, I use NS 4.x extensively to check what I'm doing on various projects, and haven't run into this. Could you post a link to the problem page and let me try it?

In netscape, when you click on something that it doesn't know what to do with, it tries to download it. Look at the requestor window that comes up, it should list the mime type up there somewhere, like application/octet-stream or something. what does yours say? application/unknown ? application/php or something like that?

What web server are you running, as this sounds more like a web server configuration problem.

okay, it works fine on other people's netscapes on other machines.. it seems to do this only on my machine (which is the webserver, which, is running Personal Web Server 4.0 on win98) when i click on it. I think its a file association problem. I get a window taht pops up stating "open rest.php with PHP.EXE... open this file or save it to disk" i opened it and it pulled up a msdos window executing the program... that's where i am now.. anyone know how to correct this in netscape using some type of file association?
