I need to send about 1200 hundred emails out and am wanting to do it via PHP while pulling the list out of mysql. I was going to write a script to do this, but I hear that using mail() that many times is extremely slow, even if I only do 100 a day. Are there any scripts written with this allready in mind?

If you'd not out to send spam, get yourself some mailinglist software. Something like listserv can be few from a mysql table and mails very fast.

Thanx for the info and no I'm not out to spam. However, it does sound like it. I am building a Real Estate focused site for a client and we are at the point where we are inviting various agents to list properties for free. Obviously, we need to first contact them. I'm working on that now.

And how did you get their addresses? If it's not an opt-in list, then it is spam.

An ignore button (or option, or whatever) is just a way of not having to deal with posts from people of your choosing.
I didn't take offence or anything, just wondering what you meant by the ignore button. :-)
