What is HPLIB ?

I am a newbie of PHP. I always see somthing like these below. Can anyone tell me what all these mean.

1) PHPLIB
2) Include extension for PHPLIB Templates

Hi,

As far as I know PHPLIB is a extension to PHP, giving you various things which are usefull but not included in PHP (a library for PHP)... I think (but I never used PHPLIB or had a deeper look at it - so don't beat me if I'm wrong :-)) that one of the major advantages of PHPLIB was the session-management ... which is part of PHP4 ... also if you are a newbie (I'm actually one myself :-)) I don't know If you need and are able to get it to run, PHPLIB ... There is also an URL for PHPLIB ...

How can I know that my hosting company install the PHPLIB in their server.

Usually it is something that you will need to do yourself, you just create a folder for in your directory somehwhere, and then you just inlude the prepend.php3 page wherever you need it, consult the docs

Sorry not quite understand. Did you mean that I need to download the PHPLIB and put it into my directory. If so, the PHPLIB is used only by myself? (I am using a shared space server). Also I need not contact my hosting company to do anything. All can be done by myself?

P.S. Where to download this PHPLIB.

Yes, you must download and install it yourself, it is just a library of prebuilt functions mainly for db and template stuff
