I am creating a website, that I guess you would consider a community. I currently have the newest version of phorum installed and also a system for members to register by them filling out a form, an email is sent to them, and then the account becomes active when they click on a link. This seems redundant but I can deal with that minor problem.
The thing I am having trouble determining is a method to have the username they chose to become a member to be a glabla user name, attached to anything they post (instead of the ability to put any name) and the session cookie that asks them for a password the first time they attempt to post in that session. The reason I want it to be a global nickname is because I am thinking about offering email from my domain (see next post), and would like their address to be the saem as their user name.
I am not that great of a programmer yet so anyone with patience please help me out..
