Is this legal?

I was wondering if this was legal: I have a script that is basicaly a meta-search engine. It takes input from a search box, opens a search on say Yahoo's server, and displays the results for many engines on my site.

Can I do this? Can you suggest some engines that wouldn't mind me doing that if I credited them?

I belive c4.com does just what you are talking about. You might investigate that. However, I would be interested to know if they have arrangements with the search engines or not.

Well if it's not someone woulda shut Metacrawler down years ago.

As far as I know the Law on line is if you put information in public domain then people are free to do with it as they see fit, copywrites are kinda hazy due to the global nature of the web.
